Doing What You Believe In...

When I was little I wanted to do everything. When I grew up I wanted to be an actress, doctor, model and a veterinarian. I wanted to do everything I loved which involved helping people and animals, wearing cute clothes while walking down the runway and acting in my favorite Disney channel show That’s So Raven.

David Frost once said “Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.”

Society today makes it their priority to pursue in a career that makes a decent amount of money because of the recession that today’s society is in today.  I believe that doing something you love is very important if you want to have success with it in the future. Being an engineer when you grow up because they make a lot of money isn’t always the best if you hate math and science.

Doing something you love is very important if you want to succeed. When you get a job, it would be nice if you can wake up in the morning feeling happy to go to work in the morning oppose to regretting it since you hate your job. If you do not love your job it’s a big chance that you won’t put in the same kind of effort you would if it’s the job you love. An example of this can be for a person that loves to paint. If they get a job at a bank they wouldn’t have any passion for what they’re doing. Even if their paintings didn’t sale, if it’s something they believe in they will have more joy in painting a picture than dealing with customers at a bank

.           I completely agree with David Frost in doing something you believe in and enjoy. Till this day I chose to become a doctor because I love helping people. It’s important to do something you love because like Frost said you will eventually have success in it.

  1. This quote is definitely something i live by. If we don't love what we do, then our possibilities of success can be hindered. Doing your job, or studying in school are much more enjoyable and make us a lot happier when we're doing it because we want to. Great post, Ericah ! :)

  2. It's true that you should persue something you love. I can relate, because I personally love to paint (; but then again every one needs to eat as well. Finding a number of thing you love is important to be able to keep your options open. No one should have to "work" in life, if it means they hate doing it. I liked your post, and agree heavily with the concept. (:

  3. I love the quote that you chose. Your interpretation of it is amazing. I completely agree with you. If you are not passionate about your career then there is little possibility that you will have success. Everyone wants to earn lots of money but if it means doing something that you hate then it truly isn't worth it.

  4. You are completely right when you say do something you love, because if you don't do something you love you will spend your whole life miserable. My grandparents always tell me to be an engineer, so it made me laugh when you wrote that example, because I don't enjoy math and science at all. I really enjoyed your essay. Keep up the good work, Erica. You will do something great in life.

  5. I can agree with you 100%, Ericah. Nowadays, it's hard to get a job that actually involves something that you love doing. People call it 'reality', and that that is just how life is. But I believe that everyone should have a job, in which they love doing, so it's like they're never working a day in their life, but rather enjoy what they're doing. You did a great job Ericah! And I'm sure many more people can agree with you :)
